PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency in utilizing the electric power in dialysis and to effectively utilize even the low-temp. waste heat generated in a methanol fuel cell by combining the methanol fuel cell and an electrodialytic cell. CONSTITUTION:An anolyte is supplied to the anode part 30 of the methanol fuel cell 1 from an anolyte circulating tank 3 through a supply pipeline 8, and circulated to the tank 3 through a circulating pipeline 33. Meanwhile, air is supplied to the cathode part 31 from a supply pipeline 9, and the exhaust gas generated in the cell reaction is discharged from a discharge pipe 34. The heat generated in the fuel cell 1 and the waste heat of the gas are transmitted to seawater in heat exchangers 4 and 5 to heat the seawater, and the heated seawater is supplied to the electrodialytic cell 2 through a supply pipe 12. The seawater in the supply pipeline 12 is preheated by the heat recovered from the desalted water and concd. water after dialysis in the heat exchanger 6, the desalted water is taken out to the outside of the system from a pipeline 13, and the concd. water is discharged to the outside of the system from a discharge pipe 14. |
