<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To grasp the function of a printer 20 in a digital still camera 1. <P>SOLUTION: A printer function file indicative of the function of the printer 20 which can be realized in the printer 20 is transmitted from the printer 20 to the digital still camera 1.
