<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which can limit a site where printing can be performed. <P>SOLUTION: In this printing system, a common key is generated using printer position information at the time of setting up the printer 30 and retained. A printing client 20 obtains the common key from the printer 30; cryptographs printing data with the help of the common key into cryptographic printing data; and sends the data to the printer 30. In the printer 30, the printer position information is acquired at the time of sending the cryptographic printing data to the printer 30; the common key is generated using the printer position information; and the cryptographic printing data are decoded using the newly generated common key. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
