<p>A filter for the purification of gases in respect of mercury comprises a casing (2) with an inlet opening (7), an outlet opening (8) for the gases which shall be purified in respect of mercury, in the casing a filter body (10) consisting of a very large number of layers of thin foil (17, 18) which on each side is covered with a thin gold layer, between said layers of gold plated foil, channels (19) for gas which shall be purified in respect of mercury and for gas intended to be fed through the filter during the regeneration of the filter. Means (20) are provided for heating said foil and said gold layers deposited on the foil to above 200 °C in connection with the regeneration of the filter. Said foil, which defines the substrate for the gold layers, consists of, or exhibits on each side thereof, a surface layer consisting of a material which can not be alloyed with gold through diffusion of gold from the gold layers during heating to or at the regeneration temperature.</p> |
