PURPOSE:To alleviate a horizontal moire phenomenon generated by a mutual interference between a picture image display pattern and an aperture pitch of a cathode-ray tube shadow mask. CONSTITUTION:A horizontal position shift circuit 2 determines whether or not a horizontal shift is to be conducted, based on a signal of double periods of a horizontal period to output a control signal. According to this control signal, a horizontal deflection block 3 shifts a display position of a scanning line per horizontal period relatively in the lateral direction so as to alleviate a moire phenomenon. With this constitution, the moire phenomenon is alleviated irrespective of dimensions of an aperture pitch in the horizontal direction of a CRT shadow mask and a display area of an image and the number of display dots in the horizontal direction, and degradation of resolution can be suppressed to the minimum. |
