PURPOSE: To provide an acidic gas adsorbent or a deodorizing element carried uniformly without blocking pores of a carrier by an additive and provided with superior adsorption performance not available heretofore. CONSTITUTION: A porous metal oxide with a number of hydroxyls on the surface is used as a carrier, and an organic silica compound containing functional group which can be bonded with the hydroxyls chemically on the carrier surface, an acidic gas-adsorptive aminogroup is carried thereon. Since the organic silica compound is bonded directly with the hydroxyls on the surface of the carrier, an additive can be dispersed and carried uniformly, and adsorption performance can be improved by utilizing effectively the large surface area of the carrier.
