PURPOSE: To provide a rotating device for orientation of polarization independently rotating each polarization orientation of two wavelength light beams to an optional polarization orientation, as for light including two different wavelength light beams on the same axis. CONSTITUTION: The device is provided with a 1st wavelength plate 33 equipped with a retardation (2n-1)πto the 1st light and a retardation (2m-1)πto the 2nd light, and a 2nd wavelength plate 37 equipped with a retardation (2p-1)πto the 1st light and a retardation 2qπto the 2nd light and the plates 33 and 37 are installed on the optical axis 40 in order. Provided that (n), (m), (p) and (q) mean integers.
