PURPOSE: To display a candidate which is shorter or longer in reading length next to a currently displayed candidate when a display of a different-reading- length candidate is indicated as to the conversion candidate corresponding to an inputted reading character string. CONSTITUTION: The candidate corresponding to the reading inputted from an input part 101 is retrieved from a KANA(Japanese syllabary)-KANJI (Chinese character) conversion dictionary 106 and registered in a candidate network 107 to generate a selected candidate table 108. Then generated candidates are displayed at a display part 103. When the display of a candidate with different reading length is indicated, the candidate is retrieved from the candidate network 107 and selected candidate table 109 and displayed at a display part 103. |
