PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an intermediate carrier for transferring printing ink, to maintain a sheet positively on a conveyor belt only by applying small holding force at the time of the sheet passing by disposing a drum of a printing unit in such a way that an angle between the axis of the drum and a conveying direction is not a right angle. SOLUTION: A writing head 6 forms a latent image on a transfer drum 3 on the basis of image data, and this latent image is developed through an inking unit and transferred onto a sheet 2. At this time, the transfer drum 3 is supported on a printer not at a right angle but obliquely to a sheet conveying direction P. Since a sheet front edge part 8 is right-angled to the conveying direction P, the axis 4 of the transfer drum 3 forms a small angleαto the sheet front edge part 8. With the transfer drum 3 thus arranged obliquely, the sheet 2 is not easily separated from a conveyor belt 1 at the time of being fed out of a pressing nip. In addition, impact at the time of the sheet 2 being fed into or out of the pressing nip is avoided. |
