The invention relates to a socket base filler for electric lamps exhibiting the lowest possible resin content. In accordance with the invention, the socket base filler contains natural and synthetic resins, whereby the proportion of synthetic resins does not exceed 11 % in weight, and the proportion of natural resins does not exceed 5 % in weight. Calcites only are used as filling materials. The weight ratio of natural to synthetic resin lies preferably between 0.1 and 0.5.
