Describes substituted felbamate derived compounds having the general structure of figure (I): wherein R2 is F or Cl; R3 is hydroxy or ûOCONH2; R1 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkylated cycloalkyl, alkylated heterocycle, alkylated substituted heterocycle, alkylated aromatic, and alkylated substituted aromatic. Further described is the use of compounds of figure (I) in the manufacture of a medicament for treating neuropathic pain or neuropathic disorders and glaucoma, particularly wherein the medicament is formulated for oral administration.
