Vibrating gyroscope

A vibrating gyroscope (10) includes: a support (12); four vibrating arms (14a - 14d), four weights (16a - 16d) and excitation and detection elements (28a - 34a, 28b - 34b). Each of the four vibrating arms (14a - 14d) has a first end and a second end in a longitudinal direction, and the four vibrating arms (14a - 14d) are fixed to the support (12) at the respective first ends in the longitudinal direction such that four vibrating arms (14a - 14d) are radially arranged in a single plane with the adjacent arms (14a - 14d) making an angle of about 90 degrees. The four weights (16a - 16d) are fixed to the support (12) so as to be arranged radially between the respective adjacent vibrating arms (14a - 14d). The excitation and detection elements (28a - 34a, 28b - 34b) vibrate the vibrating arms (14a - 14d) under a bending mode within the single plane and output signals generated by the vibration of the vibrating arms (14a - 14d). <IMAGE>
