<p>The use of phase shifted elements enables direct remote control of tilt of the aerial radiation pattern. The aerial (9) for a cellular telecommunications network comprises radiating elements (5-8) and a supply circuit providing radio-frequency signals. The supply circuit includes an electronic dephasing system introducing phase difference between the signals. This enables a remote adjustment of the inclination of the radiation diagram provided by the aerial in a vertical plane. The electronic dephasing system includes a phase shift cell comprising a dephaser circuit consisting of several static switching components and a fixed dephaser. Switching is achieved by PIN type diodes having a switching duration of the order of 10 - 100 nanoseconds.</p> |
