PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce consumption current of equipment as a whole including a display unit, when the equipment is in a communication state. SOLUTION: A control unit 18 in portable radio equipment outputs a control signal to an LCD drive unit 19 to drive an LCD 15, thus performing display control. When the equipment is set to a communication state by a radio communication unit 17, this state is indicated on a display screen of the LCD 15 with a color of the lighted condition against a background with a color of the non- lighted condition, such as 'in communication' by white letters against a black background. Further, the display state is transferred to a partial display, in which only a state indication area is displayed 'ON' while the remainder area is set 'OFF'. Thus, the consumption current in the LCD 15 can be reduced. |
