<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for a memory card capable of preventing the memory card from jumping out. <P>SOLUTION: This socket for a memory card is provided with: a slider 5 abutting on the memory card inserted into a housing 3 and sliding with respect to the housing 3 by receiving pressing force; a coil spring 13 for energizing the slider 5 in its extraction direction; and a lock mechanism for prohibiting movement in the extraction direction of the slider 5 when the slider 5 is pressed in to a lock position deeper than a holding position where a connection terminal of the memory card contacts a contact 10, and for releasing the slider 5 when the pressing force is removed with the slider 5 once pressed in to a part deeper than the lock position. A pressing piece 25 elastically contacting a locking recessed part formed on the memory card by projecting toward the memory card is formed at a position of the housing 3 facing to the locking recessed part with the memory card moved to a position shallower than the contact position in extracting the card. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
