PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate trouble of hindering the operability of a papermaking machine due to the problem of fraying the rim batt fibers or fabric yarns of papermaking devices, especially papermaking felt, as a result of friction with various devices including a press, a traveling controller (e.g. an air guider) and suction devices such as a foil and a suction box during using the papermaking devices in the papermaking machine. SOLUTION: A method for preventing papermaking devices from fraying by heat-sealing the rims in the width direction thereof is provided, includes using a heat-sealing device including a moving means for moving the rims along the path of the heat-sealing device, a heat supply means for melting and heat-sealing the rims by abutting on the rims, and a trimming means for trimming the rims while cooling the heat-sealed rims.
