摘要 The purpose of the present invention is to improve the storability of a plurality of coupling pieces bendably coupled. A robot arm mechanism according to the present invention has rotational joints and a linearly moving extendable joint J3. The linearly moving extendable joint has: a plurality of first coupling pieces 23 bendably coupled and having a square cross section; and a plurality of second coupling pieces 22 bendably coupled and having a plate shape. The first coupling pieces are joined to the second coupling pieces at upper portions thereof and thus restrained from bending to constitute a pillar body 2. The pillar body is released by separating the first and second coupling pieces. An exit portion 32 forms the pillar body by joining the first coupling pieces to the second coupling pieces and supports the pillar body. The plurality of first coupling pieces are bendably coupled in such a manner that upper and lower portions thereof alternate and are stored in a base 1 in such a manner that the upper portions overlapping each other and the lower portions overlapping each other alternate.
