Disclosed are a method and a device for providing augmented reality to a physical object. According to the present invention, the method is configured to project augmented reality content to the physical object by using an estimated motion of the physical object. The method comprises: a step of acquiring an image of the physical object; a step of estimating a position and a posture of the physical object by using the acquired image; a step of generating virtual content based on the estimated position and posture of the physical object; and a step of projecting the virtual content to the physical object, based on the estimated position and the posture of the physical object. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for providing augmented reality to a physical object, capable of precisely providing virtual content to a dynamic physical object.
