PURPOSE:To provide the subject sintered compact little in deflection, good in roundness and cylindricality. CONSTITUTION:A solid or cylindrical form is first placed at the hollow part of an unsintered cylindrical form. This solid or cylindrical form has the following characteristics: (1) the outer side dimension at the maximum sintering temperature is equal to or greater than the inner side dimension on shrinking due to sintering the unsintered cylindrical form; (2) the thermal expansion coefficient is larger than that of the objective cylindrical sintered compact; and (3) heat resistance is higher than that of the objective cylindrical sintered compact. Thence, the unsintered cylindrical form is sintered to obtain the objective cylindrical sintered compact <=20mum in the inside roundness and <=50mum in the cylindricality of the inner diameter, just after sintered. Because of being good in the roundness and cylindricality, the sintered compact thus obtained can directly be used as a shaft sliding member for metallic rolls, sink rolls, or support rolls of molten metal plating devices, or as a sleeve for die casting machines. |
