PURPOSE:To make no difference in light and shade of black between the surface part and interior by blending ZrO2 with a stabilizer and LaB6, molding and burning in vacuum or in a reducing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:100wt.% ZrO2 is mixed with a stabilizer such as 2-7mol% Y2O3, 8-11mol% CaO or 7-13mol% MgO, 0.1-3.0wt.% LaB6 and <=2wt.% SiO2 or Al2O3 to give a raw material. The raw material is formed into a given shape, burnt in vacuum or in a reducing atmosphere at 1,400-1,520 deg.C or the raw material is molded to give a molded article, which is burnt in an oxidizing atmosphere and heat-treated in vacuum or in a reducing atmosphere to give black zirconia ceramics having <=2mum average crystal particle diameter. |
