PURPOSE:To enable relatively stable speed change control even in case of a failure occurring in an electric throttle valve, by performing speed change control through use of a first speed change control means during a time period in which the electric throttle valve is normally operated, and through use of a second speed change control means when an abnormality occurs in the operation of the electric throttle valve. CONSTITUTION:The control apparatus comprises a first speed change control means for controlling speed change in an automatic transmission 2 on the basis of the opening of a mechanical throttle valve 18 and the number of rotation of a drive system, and a second speed change control means for controlling speed change in the automatic transmission 2 on the basis of a composite value of the opening of the mechanical throttle valve 18 and the opening of an electric throttle valve 20, and the number of rotations of the drive system. During normal operation of the electric throttle valve 20 the first speed change control means makes speed change control while, on the other hand, at the time of occurrence of an abnormality in the operation of the electric throttle valve 2 the second speed change control means make speed change control. |
