PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain such an image forming method that the amt. of oil supplied to a heating and fixing roll can be decreased, that characters or figures can be written on a transfer body surface having a fixed toner image or an adhesive tape can be adhered to the transfer body, and that, especially, a belt nip type fixing device is used. SOLUTION: In the image forming method to fix a toner image transferred to an image base body by an electrophotographic method, the toned used contains a binder resin comprising a polyester resin having the following properties. This polyester resin has at least three components of bisphenol-A-ethylene oxide adduct, bisphenol-A-propylene oxide adduct, glycerin and has 2500 to 4500 number average mol.wt. Mn, 7000 to 30000 weight average mol.wt. Mw, 95 to 120 deg.C softening point and 60-75 deg.C glass transition temp. As for a release agent oil for the heating and fixing roll 16, an organopolysiloxane containing amino groups is used, and fixing is performed while the amt. of oil supplied on the image base body is controlled to 1.6×10<-3> to 8.0×10<-3>μl/cm<2> .
