PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load driving/controlling device which controls a receiving side electrical apparatus from an external controlling device through an signal transmission line and, preventing the circuit scale or the number of wiring processes from being increased, is capable of detecting with the external controlling device a failure (abnormality) inside the receiving side electric apparatus and machines. SOLUTION: A transmitting means 33 controls a transistor 24 of a receiving side electric equipment 2 via a signal transmission line 1. A CPU 31, a judging means, judges the presence of an abnormal state of the receiving side electric equipment 2, based on an electric potential on the signal transmission line 1 obtained through a detecting means 34. For instance, even if the transmitting means 33 outputs a control signal voltage of a given electric potential pattern at the transmitting end of the signal transmission line 1, the electric potential on the signal transmission line 1 deviates from a normal electric potential, depending on the state of the receiving side electrical equipment 2. Judgment of the change of this electric potential with the judging means 31 enables the receiving side electrical equipment 2 to judge an abnormality.
