Active current localising appts. for heart

The current localising device includes electrodes for detecting the electrical potential distribution generated by the active currents on the surface of the patient. A position detector determines the spatial position of the electrodes, and a localising unit is connected to the position detector and the electrodes. The localising unit uses the potential distribution and the spatial position of the electrodes to localise the active currents. A reference catheter is fixed to the heart so that its spatial position can be determined by the position detector and the active currents are localised w.r.t the reference catheter.
