PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extremely reduce corrosion and wear of a protective film by using a thermal head having a lower layer protective film containing ceramics as a main component and an upper layer protective film containing carbon as a main component and formed on the lower layer film, and using a thermal recording material containing specific ratio or less of water content ratio of a thermal recording layer. SOLUTION: As a thermosensitive material A, a material containing 6wt.% or less of water content ratio of a thermal recording layer is used. A heating element of a thermal head 66 is constituted by forming a glazed layer 82 on a base plate 80, forming a heater 84 thereon, forming electrodes 86 thereon, and forming a protective layer thereon. A protective film has at least two layers of a lower layer protective film 88 containing ceramics as a main component and an upper layer protective film 90 containing carbon as a main component on the film 88. The head 66 and the material A containing 6wt.% or less of the water content ratio of a thermal recording layer are combined for use. Thus, corrosion and wear of the protective film of the head 66 can be remarkably reduced. |
