This invention concerns a mounting for a wheel-speed sensor in a motor vehicle wheel carrier (1) for sensing a revolving pole ring (4) and consists of an insert (8, 28) which penetrates a bore (6) in the wheel cattier (1) into which insert the sensor (13) can be placed from the side facing away from the pole ring (4). To guarantee precise positioning and to protect the sensor from mechanical effects, the insert (8, 28) has a stop (20, 29) for the sensor (13) and the edge (16) of the insert (8, 28) facing the pole ring (4) projects beyond the base (21) of the sensor (13). The edge (16) of the insert (8, 28) has recesses (17, 18).
