<p>Provided is a method for measuring the resistance of p53 mutant cancer cells to the cytotoxic effects of a chemotherapeutic agent, which method comprises testing a sample comprising p53 mutant cells or an extract therefrom for the level of expression of Cyclin D1 or for the abundance of Cyclin D1 protein. Also provided is a kit for measuring the resistance of p53 mutant cancer cells to the cytotoxic effects of a chemotherapeutic agent, which kit comprises: i) a means for testing for the level of expression of Cyclin D1 or for the abundance of Cyclin D1 protein; and ii) a means for identifying p53 mutant cells.</p> |
