PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a covered illuminating element which is superior in heat radiation characteristic and easy to assemble. SOLUTION: This covered illuminating element includes a socket, a light- emitting element 1 supported on the socket, and a cover 2 fitted around the light-emitting element 1, the covered illuminating element being inserted and fixed in a hole provided in a base board 20. The cover 2 is a rubber-like tube with a thick-walled part 3 on the inner periphery of the lower end of its base part. The socket has a base part 6 for accommodating the electrodes of the light-emitting element and is provided at its flange part 5 with two dividing grooves 4 joined with the base part 6 and communicated to the inside. A plurality of split apart engaging claws are arranged, in such a way as to be spaced apart from and surround the exterior wall of the light-emitting element 1 are provided above the flange part 5. A grooved part, corresponding to the thickness of the base board 20 provided on the outer peripheries of the engaging claws and a grooved part corresponding to the thick-walled part of the cover 2 are provided in the surfaces of the engaging claws above the flange part 5. The socket is inserted into the base board 20 from the engaging claws is connected to the base board 20 at the grooved parts. |
