PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make possible repeated operation of write-protection and its release in a single body of an optical information storage medium. SOLUTION: This optical information storage medium 1 has an optical information storage layer 5 on a disk type substrate 3 and also has a reversible display recording layer 2, on which different energies are applied. Namely, the reversible display recording layer 2 is made of a reversible material which reversible changes its reflection characteristics of light into at least two kinds of characteristics when the layer is brought back into a normal temp. state according to the applied energy. By applying different energies on the reversible display recording layer 2 to change the reflection characteristics for light of the layer 2 into at least two kinds, write-protection and its release can be performed as the appearance of the medium 1. In this method, since the state of the reversible display recording layer 2 reversibly changes, operation of the write-protections and its release can be performed for many times. |
