PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic motor in which generation of abnormal sound is reduced by suppressing vibration being transmitted from the rotor to the stator while preventing adverse effect onto the oscillation characteristics of a piezoelectric element. SOLUTION: A traveling wave oscillation takes place at the oscillating section 8a of a stator 8 upon driving a piezoelectric element 10. A rotor 11 is pressed against a stator 8 and turned through vibration thereof to cause rotation of a rotary shaft 5. The rotor 11 comprises a metal collar 20 being engaged with the rotary shaft 5, a metallic stator contact member 23 arranged on the radially outside of the metal collar 20, a resin collar 22 interposed between the metal collar 20 and the stator contact member 23, and a damper 21. When a coned disc spring 13 presses the damper 21, the stator contact member 23 of the rotor 11 is pressed against the stator 8. |
