PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus to prevent an excessive impact from being transmitted to the mating part of the screwdriver shaft and the screw head when the screw is tightened or loosened. SOLUTION: Concerning the shaft of the screwdriver used for screwing work, a penetrating or non-penetrating slit part 15, 17, which by an elastic deformation can absorb and relax an excessive impact inputted, is formed symmetrically in the shank 11 to prevent the excessive impact from being transmitted to the mating part of the screwdriver shaft tip and the screw head, when a twisting moment is applied by tightening or loosening work of the screw.
