PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for measuring the ground amount of a lens by which the constitution in the vicinity of a grinding position can be formed simply, or can be used for the grinding device of the an upper axis swinging type as this is the measuring structure using the device for grinding lens. SOLUTION: The first point 33 of contact is mounted on its tip portion by providing a turning basic member 31 and a turning tip member 32 turning around a turning shaft 114a together with a swinging arm 115 as a center. On one hand, by fixing a dial gage 39 on a moving base 37 formed slidably by a pushingly pressing member 36 in the tip of a fixing basic member 34 and a fixing tip member 35 fixed on a shaft supporting portion 114, that tip is made the second point 39a of contact. A touch sensor is provided which can be used to send an output signal when the first point 33 of contact and the second point 39a of contact are made contact in the dial gage 39.
