PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for grinding a tool and a grinding method by which the face of the grinding tool is made to follow the configuration of a face to be worked in accordance with its configuration accurately at grinding, and also, made to be able to have rigidity enough to smooth a ripple by grinding, and the optical element of a aspherical face configuration and a metal mold for forming or the like can be worked by grinding with good accuracy and smoothness. SOLUTION: A high viscous liquid 12 is filled hermetically in between a liquid containing member 2 and a liquid sealing member 6, by forming a rigid supporting member 1 receiving working pressure into a hollow cylindrical configuration having an opening at least in two places in the axial direction of the above working pressure, by attaching the liquid containing member 2 comprising a flexible material capable of following the configuration of the worked face of a work piece to the opening of a bottom side, by tightly fixing the face 11 of the grinding tool to an outer surface by means of forming, by providing the liquid sealing member 6 receiving a liquid pressure in the opening of an top side, by dividing between the liquid containing member 2 and the liquid sealing member 6, and also, by arranging an orifice plate 9 in which an orifice 9A is formed which can be used to suppress the liquid movement.
