PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile server system, which can be utilized similarly to a stand-alone FAX. SOLUTION: A remote FAX 9 has a scanner, a printer and a FAX communication means. A client 3 dispatches document data to a FAX server 1 and requests FAX transmitting/printing. The FAX server 1 expands the document data requested to transmit into image data, transfers them to any suitable remote FAX 9 and instructs FAX transmitting/printing. When FAX transmitting is directly instructed from a user and the image of a handwritten document is fetched, the remote FAX 9 dispatches such image data to the FAX server 1 and requests FAX transmitting. Besides, when fetching of image data is instructed or FAX receiving is executed, the remote FAX 9 dispatches the fetched image data or received image data to the FAX server 1. The FAX server stores these data and provides them to the client 3 corresponding to retrieval. |
