PURPOSE: A locking device of a gate for a loading compartment in a vehicle is provided to prevent corrosion against rainwater by mounting the locking device in the gate, to lock and unlock the gate by using elastic force and the link, and to improve the quality of the product by enhancing the appearance. CONSTITUTION: A gate locking device of a loading compartment in a vehicle is composed of a fitting part(10) installed into the end of a side gate(50) and composed of a cut groove vertically formed for a tailgate(60), and a locking unit(20) moved along the cut groove of the fitting part to lock or unlock the gate and installed into the tailgate to operate by link motion and elastic force. The fitting part comprises the cutting groove vertically formed for the locking unit mounted to the tailgate, a release groove communicated along the cutting groove with the height larger than the width of the cutting groove, and a locking rail connecting the release groove to the cutting groove and having the width larger than the width of the cutting groove.
