APPARATUS FOR CLEANING WIRES

A wire cleaning apparatus is provided to completely remove dust or foreign substances from a wire even when the wire is transferred at a high speed, by increasing friction force between the wire and wheel members. A plurality of wheel members(50) having one or more grooves(54) are arranged in a housing(20) for containing a cleaning liquid. A wire(12) is sequentially wound onto the wheel members along the grooves. The grooves have bottom surfaces where friction force increasing pattern units are formed to increase friction force between the wire and the wheel members. The wire is wound along the grooves of the wheel members so that the length of the wire's stay in the cleaning liquid is elongated and the wire is sufficiently soaked. The friction force increasing pattern units serve to increase friction force between the wire and the wheel members and improve dust cleaning performance.
