A stabilized cylclic copolymer composition and a method of stabilizing a cyclic copolymeric article, such as an extruded or molded article or a biaxially oriented tape or film to protect the article from degradation due to exposure to UV light and the stabilized cyclic olefin copolymeric article. The article is formed by blending a cyclic olefin copolymeric material with from about 50 to about 2000 ppm of at least one ortho hydroxy tris-aryl triazine light absorber and from about 250 ppm to about 5000 ppm of at least one low molecular weight HALS having a molecular weight less than about 500 and optionally from about 250 to about 5000 ppm of an oligomeric HALS, wherein the weight ratio of ALS to triazine light absorber is from about 7:1 to about 20:1, to form a stabilized cyclic olefin copolymeric composition, and forming an extruded or molded article or film from the stabilized cyclic olefin copolymeric composition.
