PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal head which reduces electric power required to heat heaters up to a desired temperature, by effectively utilizing Joule heat generated in the heaters, and restrains a recording medium from being wrinkled. SOLUTION: The thermal head 2 is provided with first conductor layers 24 connected to heaters 23 on the downstream sides of the heaters 23 in a carrying direction D1 and a second conductor layers 25 connected to the heaters 23 on the upstream sides of the heaters 23 in the direction D1. The first and second conductor layers 24 and 25 have narrow width parts 24B and 25B having smaller dimensions in a D2, D3 direction than heaters 23, a differenceΔL between a distance L1 from the narrow width part 24B to the center O, and a distance L2 from the narrow width part 25B to the center O becomes gradually larger as the narrow width parts are separated further from the center O.
