A torsion beam type suspension of a novel structure, produced at low cost and having high quality. The torsion beam type suspension has a torsion beam (1) where arms (11R, 11L) are formed by bending both ends of a pipe material (10) and also has wheel installation members (12R, 12L) fixed to the arms (11R, 11L), respectively. Portions (22a, 22a) to be inserted of the wheel installation members (12R, 12L) are inserted into open ends (11a, 11a) of the arms (11R, 11L), and the wheel installation members (12R, 12L) are welded to the arms (11R, 11L).
