The present invention relates to a microorganism having the ability to produce quinolinic acid, and to a method for producing quinolinic acid using the same. The microorganism having the ability to produce quinolinic acid is transformed to have the activities of quinolinate synthase derived from Klebsiella pneumonia. The microorganism having the ability to produce quinolinic acid of the present invention can be efficiently used for producing quinolinic acid in an effective manner.
