PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device capable of reducing force required when a medium to be transported holding a medium to be recorded is manually fed to a position where a drive roller can transport the medium to be transported.SOLUTION: A printer 11 comprises: a recording section 30 for performing recording onto an optical disk D; a discharge drive roller 60 for transporting a disk tray 22 capable of holding the optical disk D toward the recording section 30; a DC motor for imparting rotational force to the discharge drive roller 60; a tray detection section 24 capable of detecting insertion and extraction of the disk tray 22 with respect to a transportation path Rd extending toward the recording section 30; and a second motor control section for applying an assist voltage for imparting rotational assist force smaller than a rotational load of the discharge drive roller 60 to the discharge drive roller 60 to the DC motor when the tray detection section 24 detects the disk tray 22 being inserted into the transportation path Rd. |
