<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small, inexpensive developing device which has a structure using a recovery roller of a hybrid development system and ensures stable development characteristics free from nonuniform images, and also to provide an image forming apparatus using the developing device. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device include: a toner carrier 2 disposed opposite an image carrier 2; two developer carriers 3 and 4 for holding and conveying two-component developer G, and supplying the developer G to the toner carrier 2 and recovering it from there; a conveying member 5 for transferring the developer G between the two developer carriers 3 and 4; and a guide member 6 which encloses a part of the conveying member 5 and, thereby, forms a developer conveying passage around the conveying member 5. The conveying member 5 includes only a pair of magnetic poles of different polarities α and β, which are disposed so as to correspond with magnetic poles m and n, respectively, which are the closest to the conveying member 5, the magnetic poles m and n each being one of the magnetic poles of the developer carriers 3 and 4, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
