PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a diamond-metal carbide compound sintered compact having a high hardness.SOLUTION: The method for producing a diamond-metal carbide compound sintered compact includes the steps of: forming a preform containing a catalyst metal powder containing 1 or more kinds of metal selected from Co, Ni, Mn, and Fe, and a carbide-forming metal powder containing 1 or more kinds of metal selected from Ti, Nb, V, Zr, Hf, and Cr; forming a carbide of carbide-forming metal by press-sintering the preform at a first temperature with carbide forming reaction using the catalyst metal as a catalyst; and sintering the diamond by press-sintering the preform after forming the carbide at a second temperature.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
