PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately calculate the flow rate of air passing through each throttle valve in a configuration in which a throttle valve and an air flow meter are provided in each of two systems of intake passages branched upstream of an intake manifold and a passage is provided for connecting the two systems of intake passages between the throttle valves and the air flow meters.SOLUTION: There is a risk that when throttle characteristics change to cause a difference between the characteristics of throttle valves 20, 22, in spite of controlling openings of the throttle valves 20, 22 to the same openings, intake air flows in a connection passage 40 and a larger amount of intake air flows in one of intake passages 12, 14, a throttle passing air flow rate that is calculated using a throttle model, deviates from an actual value and as a result, an error is caused in estimation of a cylinder charging air amount using an air model. Accordingly, such a change of the throttle characteristics is learnt, and the throttle passing air flow rate calculated using the throttle model is corrected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
