PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk archive system and the like with a function as a distributed storage cluster.SOLUTION: A data archive system includes a library device for recording/reproducing data on/from a plurality of recording media, and a server for managing the library device. The recording medium is a write-once recording medium. A control unit of the server adds data received via a host server I/F to a file stored in a data storage unit, transmits the file with the data added thereto to the library device via a library I/F, and controls the library device so that a recording/reproducing unit records the file received via the server I/F on the recording media.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
