Dispersion and separation of fine particles - using high speed air current deflecting off plate at acute angle

A fine powder is dispersed and carried into the operating part of an air flow separator at a specified feed rate, being accelerated and transported by compressed air. After acceleration it is first caused to impinge at >=40 m/s and an angle of =90 degrees (pref. 15-60 degrees) on to >=1 successive surfaces, brought to the velocity for feeding into the separating zone and then immediately fed to that zone. Complete dispersion and a sharp sepn. of fine particles differing e.g. by 2-4 mu is effected inexpensively using 100 m/s flow speed.
