PURPOSE:To obtain the optical waveguide circuit which is reduced in size and highly integrated by refracting light in an optional direction by the core-side internal surface of a space part formed in a light direction conversion part. CONSTITUTION:In an optical waveguide substrate 3 where a clad 2 is formed outside the core 1 having the light direction conversion part 1a, the space part 4 which forms an air layer interface surface with the core 1 is formed outside the light direction conversion part 1a. Thus, the space part 4 is formed outside the light direction conversion part 1a of the core 1, so the internal surface 4a of the space part 4 on the side of the core 1 becomes the interface surface between the core 1 and air and light (a) which is propagated in the core 1 is refracted by the internal surface 4a. Consequently, the coupling part is reduced in overall length and the degree of integration is increased. |
