<p>PURPOSE:To provide the above control device for an engine which detects abnormal vibration and abnormal noise of a valve system and reduces the set maximum number of revolutions of an engine and limits the increase of the number of revolutions of an engine. CONSTITUTION:A vibration sensor to detect vibration generated from the poppet device of an engine is provided. After a detected signal therefrom is read at S1 and S2 for a given sample minutes, it is discriminated at S3 by means of the detected signal whether abnormal vibration is generated. During the generation of abnormal vibration, a maximum fuel injection amount is limited at S4 by a present fuel injection amount. In this way, the increase of the number of revolutions of an engine is limited. The present control device is suitable for an engine having the poppet device having a hydraulic type valve lash adjuster but also suitable for the engine having the valve system having no hydraulic valve lash adjuster.</p> |
