<p>PURPOSE:To improve the safety, to reduce the suction and exhaust air resistance, to improve the dust collection efficiency, and to facilitate the maintenance of an electric precipitator by installing a noncombustible fireproof shutter, which blocks a gas passage by expanding at a specified temperature, on the upstream and downstream sides of a dust collection element. CONSTITUTION:In an electric precipitator with a dust collection element 2, an ionization part 22, in which dust particles contained in a dusty gas are charged with electricity, and a dust collection part 23, in which the charged dust particles are collected, are installed in a gas passage A within a casing 1. On the upstream and downstream sides of the dust collection element 2, a noncombustible fireproof shutter 4 is installed which blocks a gas passage A by expanding at a specified temperature. In this way, in case the dust collection element 2 catches fire, the fireproof shutter 4 is expanded by the heat to block the gas passage A so that the dust collection element 2 is shut off from the outside air for the immediate extinction of the fire. Moreover, since the fireproof shutter 4 is expanded only at the time of fire, an enough area of the opening of the gas passage A is retained in normal operation.</p> |
