<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce electromagnetic disturbance radiation at the time of burning up particles in the field using an easily programmable small unit by discharging electric energy stored at a preset level upon detection of a particle (chip) while traversing a contactor. SOLUTION: When a particle is detected while traversing the electric contactors 38, 40 of an arbitrary chip detector 30a, short circuit state of that channel (circuit) is delivered from a differential amplifier 46 through a multiplexer 48 to aμP 28 in order to energize a variable voltage DC/DC converter 16 thus storing (charge) the electric energy in a capacitor bank 18 up to a burn up level corresponding to the circuit of detector 30a. When the electric energy reaches the level corresponding to the detector 30a, theμP 28 deenergizes the variable voltage DC/DC converter 16 and energizes a power switch 26 associated with the circuit of detector 30a. Consequently, the energy stored in the capacitor bank 18 is fed to the detector 30a and the contactors 38, 40 are short- circuited thus burning up and destroying the particle.</p> |
